Alliance Semiconductor Corporation designs and manufactures memory and memory-intensive logic. Alliance's product lines include Static Random Access Memory (SRAM), Pseudo SRAM (PSRAM), Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM), Flash Memory, and embedded memory and logic solutions. For a little while they also sold some video chipsets for PCs. Founded in 1985, Alliance is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, with design centers in Santa Clara, as well as Hyderabad and Bangalore, India. NASDAQ symbol : ALSC.

Sale of business units

Alliance semiconductors sold all its 3 business units (Memory, Mixed signal, System) recently in the wake of mounting losses and reduced growth. Its Mixed signal business renamed as Pulsecore Semiconductor Inc. and it is managed by world's prominent venture capital firms like August capital, Shah capital. Alliance sold its system division to Tundra Semiconductor, a Canadian networking company.
